Two fastidious consumers, one an artist and fashion designer from New York, the other a journalist and critic from London, have created Sandsdale, an exclusive line of fine-tailored gentleman’s underwear and beach attire.

Always puzzled as to why underwear, that first essential garment of the day, seems to compromise on either comfort or style, our underwear has been painstakingly designed and crafted to compromise on neither. As well as the standard white and black staples, our forthcoming range draws on classic gentleman’s prints: polka dots typical of ’30s handkerchiefs, and diagonal stripes as per traditional silk ties. All using the finest cotton, and cotton blends.

Sandsdale therefore counters the present trend where underwear is flash, luminous and logo ridden - there’s no reason for men’s undergarments to look like formula one motorcars.

Our design concept combines traditional values with sartorial innovation to create a cool, masculine sophistication. The movie stars in the 40s and 50s would certainly have favored Sandsdale.
